This coming week in participating in a group art show at the Martin Bachelor Gallery which is themed Selfie. Or what they used to refer to back in the days of Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Kahlo etc as self portraits.
No, I’m not a Millenial narcissist as Psychology Today and this selfie article help explain the point of view.
It should be a fun show with dozens of faces of different styles and interpretations staring down at the viewers.
UPDATE: One of the curators Efren Quiroz made this video interviewing many of the artists. Sadly is unable to attend the opening and meet some of these talented people.
Here is a review of the show has recently been published in the Times-Colonist, written by a well known local arts writer/critic Robert Amos.

Looking good….:)
Very cool pieces ~ love ’em!
Merry creating!
Love your selfies…..very deep the first one, something to ponder. And the second, my favorite of the two just makes me want to meet and talk to her…the hair…fantastic. The expression…stunning. Funny, I posted a selfie this week on Show your Face.
Very cool work.
I really love the perspective of the first selfie…. I think the colour if rich and eyecatching too. And love the way the hair hands in the 2nd one too! Fabulous work!
Beautiful work, Terri. Very well done. The last time I did a self-portrait, it actually looked more like a cartoon! Illustrating real-life people is not one of my strong suits. LOVE anyone who can do this. 🙂
Ohhh I like this idea. Very well done.
Beautiful self portraits!
Gorgeous and I love the two different perspectives too!!
Hugs Giggles
Wonderful work! I love the angle particularly of your first piece. All through the history of art artists have been doing selfies haven’t they? Then the camera comes along and everyone is doing it! I’m off to read your links, thanks 🙂 Thanks for linking up to Show Your Face and sorry I’m late coming around to comment! Kx
